Amy Bottomly holds a B.S. in Family and Human Services from John Brown University. After graduation, Amy spent six years working with youth and families to develop life skills. Today Amy enjoys being a stay at home mom, and networking with people who share her passion for Ethiopia and orphan care. Amy’s interests include good friends, play groups, and blogging Silas’s (and soon Olive's) whole life.

Josh and Amy were married after a whirlwind romance on March 17, 2001. Three years later they suffered a disorienting stretch when they struggled to conceive. After failed medical tests and deep heartache, Josh and Amy found healing and hope through adoption. Even before the process began adoption shifted from Plan B to Plan A! Adoption and orphan care became Josh and Amy's common mission.

Today, Josh and Amy have connected with Children's Hope Chest and have helped coordinate an online sponsor community that currently sponsor three orphanage in Ethiopia. Josh and Amy are also in the process of adopting their second child, a baby girl to be named Olive, from Ethiopia.
